ABOUT THE BOOK

A quiet companion for when things inside us begin to change.

At its heart, When the Sky Changes is not only about childhood. It is about being human in a world that is constantly changing.

01

This book was created because many children do not always have the words for what they are going through.

02

Adults around a child often care deeply but can still struggle to reach what the child is really feeling. Stories can reach places conversations sometimes cannot.

03

The stories give children language for their inner world and a gentle way back to themselves.

04

Many themes will feel especially familiar to multicultural families navigating belonging, identity and difference.

05

The title reflects a simple thought: the sky is always changing. What is harder is when change happens inside us.

06

The book does not promise a perfect world. Friendship problems, rejection, pressure, anxiety, comparison and change still exist.

07

Instead, it offers the ability to pause instead of panic, breathe instead of break, and reflect instead of collapse.

08

While feelings, situations and circumstances may change, we do not have to lose ourselves when they do.
